We LOVE Khadi and we finally have them in the shop! Why do we love Khadi? The fact that everything is done by hand – yarn and fabric. In Khadi, even the yarn is handmade thus keeping it’s cottonness. Our Khadi blankets are hand spun and hand woven by artisants in rural villages in India. You will never get a smooth machine finish look – the beauty of khadi blankets comes from the handmade quality that no two fabrics will be exactly the same.

Khadi is a traditional cloth of India. It is a movement Gandhi created by boycotting foreign goods and promoting the spinning of khadi to generate jobs in rural parts of India. Most of these rural areas have no electricity. Everything is done by hand.

Khadi keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It is one of the most comfortable fabrics and the more you wash it, the better it looks and feels.
