Tavira – Portugal

Tavira – Portugal

While in Algarve for a week, we decided to base ourselves in 2 areas: The Eastern & Western part of Algarve. This turned out really great for us as we were able to really explore each end without too much driving and really having the time to enjoy all the places we were visiting. We chose Tavira as a base on the Eastern side of Algarve as it’s a small town that has kept it’s traditional charm. It really is one of the cutest towns in Algarve and I highly recommend basing yourself here to explore the Eastern side. For a small charming town, it has a lot of restaurants to choose from which is a priority for me. It’s always nice to experience staying in a small town vs just passing by for a quick visit as you get to slow down and really feel the surroundings. Tavira also has some of the finest churches in the Algarve and there’s about 20 of them in a small town. You’ll also see a lot of typical Portuguese homes with tiled fronts along narrow cobbled streets. While in Tavira, we stayed at the beautiful Tavira House Hotel and I highly recommend it. It’s a little boutique hotel nestled in the middle of the town. It doesn’t have it’s own parking but we always managed to find free parking right in front of the hotel. But pay parking spots are extremely cheap if free parking is not available. The hotel has a beautiful grand living room, a nice rooftop patio, outdoor courtyard surrounded by orange potted trees where you can have your morning breakfast and a...
Santa Luzia – Portugal

Santa Luzia – Portugal

Santa Luzia is located in the Eastern Algarve in Portugal It is a tiny fishing town, nowadays knows as “Octopus Capital” which is a local specialty. The town is really small and so charming. We explored it by foot admiring the many little homes covered in pastel patterned tiles and locals going about their business. I love small towns like this. There’s a sense of calmness that you don’t get in bigger...
Dolly Llama Rag Doll

Dolly Llama Rag Doll

Meet Luna’s little vintage inspired Dolly Llama rag doll. It’s the sweetest little thing and oh so cuddly! This one was custom made for her but you can get them pre-made from their online shop. These are 20″ tall and are all handmade. Even the eyes are hand embroidered! It’s amazing how many dolls Luna has collected throughout the years and toys overflowing in our house. When Luna was a newborn, her room was filled with wooden toys and vintage inspired dolls. Then as the years went by, more and more toys filled our house from birthdays & Christmas presents. There are those toys that come and go. But there are those beautiful well made toys & dolls that you want your kids to keep forever. They’re well made and they look beautiful in a home. This is one of those. There’s so much love and care put into making every single one of these. Thanks Dolly Llama for making our little girl very happy. I love it as much as she does! You can grab one of these for your sweet little girl...
Palm Springs Getaway

Palm Springs Getaway

Happy new year everyone! Sorry I haven’t been on top of my blogging since Christmas started. We were busy with so many Christmas festivities that I didn’t have much time to sit in front of the computer. But for those who follow me on Instagram, you would have seen what we’ve been up to. We started off the new year with a trip to Palm Springs to get away from the cold and to start the new year right with quality time with the family. Just the 3 of us, together everyday exploring a new place was what we wanted. We stayed at the beautiful Viceroy Palm Springs and we loved it. It was perfect from day 1. The first thing we did was settle into our room, changed into our bathing suits and went straight to the pool. That first splash in the pool was heaven. We would start each day with a breakfast by the pool and a morning swim. Then head off with our rental car and explore the desert for the rest of the afternoon. Our evenings were spent back in Palm Springs dining at one of the restaurants in town. Our favourite restaurants from the trip was Tinto (Basque style tapas) at Saguaro hotel, Cheeky’s for breakfast, Lulu’s and Las Casuela Terraza for mexican food. We actually really liked our poolside breakfast at Viceroy as well. In the next little while, I will be posting more photos of Palm Springs. Each post will be dedicated to each place we explored: Pioneer Town, Noah Purifoy, Anza-Borrego, Galleta Meadows, Salton Sea & Salvation Mountain. Each and...
