Loving Summer

We are all completely loving summer! We’ve had the best weather yet and loving every moment of it. I apologize for my lack of blog posts but I haven’t been in front of the computer much these days. We’ve been spending our days at the beach, going on mini weekend road trips, a lot of picnics and just hanging out in the sun. I should be back with my usual blog posts more when summer ends but in the meantime, you can follow us on instagram here. Happy summer...

Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba

We are back from spending 8 amazing days in Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba. The beach is pure paradise. Turquoise waters and white powdery sand in a long stretch of beach spanning approximately 13 km long. We would spend all day at the beach and taking naps underneath a shaded palapa. It was heaven. Every moment of it was so perfect. Swimming in the ocean was like being in a pool as the water was so clear and so calm. You could walk quite far as the water stayed shallow which made it perfect for Luna to swim and play in the ocean. It is definitely one of the best beaches we have been to. What I love about traveling is the quality time we get to spend together as a family. For the 8 days we were in Cayo Santa Maria, we had no internet, tv, radio or newspaper. It was really nice & refreshing to be away from it all. Aside from swimming, eating and afternoon siestas, we kept ourselves entertained with origami, playing bingo and drawing together. It was simple and so...

Luna’s Year 3 Book

Documenting Luna’s life one year at a time. I finally finished Year 3 book! When the book arrived in the mail, it is Luna who is the most excited. She’ll go through the book and scream “Oh, I remember that day!” and “Oh, that was so much fun!”. I also couldn’t help giggling seeing her kissing the photos on the book saying “cute little girl Luna”. Watching her with all that excitement going through photos and photos of her life makes doing this year after year all worth it. Every year, I start off the book with a little write up summarizing that year. Here’s the intro for year 3: To my daughter Luna, Each year, I tell myself this is the best year yet and it couldn’t get any better. But you’ve proven that every year with you is so incredibly special filled with so much love and happiness. I love spending my days with you and watching your personality blossom to be the sweetest and funniest little girl. I love hearing you tell your stories about life at preschool & daycare and about all your little friends. I love watching you learn the simplest things in life but yet, they are big achievements and we are always there beside you applauding you. I love how much we say “I love you” to each other and “you’re my best friend”. We truly are best of friends. You’re the most beautiful little girl I have ever known and I love you to pieces. The pages in this book tells a story of our beautiful life together when you were...

Style At Home Magazine

We are happy to be in this month’s issue of Style At Home magazine. It was such a fun shoot with talented photographer Janis Nicolay along with Style At Home editor, Erin McLaughlin who briefly stopped by. It was such a casual shoot. There wasn’t much styling done and not a lot of equipment except for Janis’ camera, tripod, laptop & her assistant holding up a light diffuser. Luna was so cute happily playing around the house and sort of posing for the camera at the same time. She liked all the attention. I have to say, it’s definitely fun for our home to be featured in a magazine. It’s like having someone come in to document our life at home to share our story. It’s a nice memento of our life at this time. I thank Style At Home for doing a fabulous job on putting our story together. For those inclined, you can also see our home featured back in 2011 in Anthology magazine – A San Francisco based home decor, travel, design & culture magazine. Porteau Cove

It rains in Vancouver almost 10 months in a year but when the sun comes out, it’s glorious and everyone is out enjoying the outdoors. This weekend, we headed to Squamish for a little adventure. It’s always a treat to drive on the Sea to Sky Highway with its amazing views. We stopped at Shannon Falls to do a quick little hike, had lunch in Squamish town then headed to Porteau Cove on our way home. Happy...
