Luna has discovered the fun of riding horses in a carousel. She tells us that she dreams about riding horses when she sleeps at night and during nap time. She’s also quite particular with the colour of horse she rides – It has to be black. Luna loves singing to songs and mimicking everything we do. She also loves pretending it’s our birthday and will constantly find random things to give to us as presents. Her favourite saying lately is “mommy, hold me”. Luna loves being with her grandparents who she calls “momsie” & “papa” as well as all her cousins. It’s really nice seeing her grow up surrounded by so much family and being so close to all her cousins who take such good care of her.

Here’s to a new chapter of Luna’s monthly photos. Thanks for the recommendations of changing up the set every year. Great idea! I was getting tired of the red chair and alphabet poster so I needed a change myself. The poster on the background was designed by Peter and I for our talented friends, Jonathan & Anita of Rollout.

Luna loves pesto pasta (just like her mama!), cakes, doughnuts, chocolates & her yellow shoes. She loves her yellow shoes so much that we sometimes hear her talking in her sleep whispering “yellow shoes, yellow shoes”. She’s also had a few nightmares lately where she screams out “choco milk, choco milk!”. Apparently, chocolate milk can be very scary.

Luna’s favourite song to dance to with Peter is UMI Says by Mos Def. Every night when Peter comes home, they dance to it together and it has to be played over and over again until dinner is served. She’s got some awesome moves too which totally works with the song. I video taped her dancing to it one night so I might just post it up one day.

As soon as I finished Luna’s First Year of Life book, I promised myself that I would continue doing these books for her and document her life year by year. And now, we have Luna’s Year 2 Book! Just like her first book, I spent a year working on this. It’s a 222 page book with different chapters for every month of her life. I would spend a few hours per month working on a chapter which helped a lot. Otherwise, It’s a huge project to take on if it’s all done at once. It can get quite overwhelming. I find having different chapters also helps when looking through the book. It’s a lot of pages with a lot of photographs to look at so the chapters almost becomes a little breather and a pause before starting a new chapter with more photos.

Just like last years book, I always start with a little write up summarizing that year. Here’s what I wrote for this years book:

To my daughter Luna,

I had promised myself that I would continue to create these books for you as a memory of all the wonderful days we’ve spent watching you grow and become a beautiful little girl. When you’re older, you may not remember all of these special times that we’ve spent with you and all the milestones you had accomplished. Thus, this book documents all of our happiest memories together as you explored the world from month 13-24. The biggest accomplishment this year was learning to walk and talk. As soon as you started walking, I was there beside you holding your hand as we walked down the street together side by side. I never left your side. I knew from that day on that I would see the world in a brand new way – I was rediscovering the world as you explored it for the first time. It’s been such a joy watching you explore the world with so much enthusiasm to learn and feel things. You’ve opened our eyes and made this world a lot more colourful by pointing out and expressing all the little things you’ve discovered – birds flying, leaves on the ground, gravel on pavement, flowers blooming, airplanes flying overhead. You have helped us see and appreciate all the little beauties of this world. My hope is that when the day comes and I am no longer here with you, this book will tell a story of the beautiful life we spent together and the love we have for you. There are no words to describe this love but this book tells it all.

Love, Mommy

I’ve been getting a lot of emails this past year from such lovely moms who I have inspired from Luna’s First Year of Life book with questions on how they can do the same for their little one. I use Blurb to print the books and since I have a design background, her books are totally custom. All I have to do is download their indesign plugin and use that to custom design her book. Below are the specs I used for Luna’s books:

- Standard Landscape (10×8″)
- Hardcover, image wrap
- Premium paper, matte finish

I hope I have inspired more moms to do these yearly books. It’s not that much work if you just spend a few hours a month working on it. It’s so rewarding to see it printed as you flip through the pages and see a life full of happiness.

xo, Nerissa

My little girl is growing up. I finally finished Luna’s year book two and is on it’s way! I can’t wait to see it printed. It’s so nice to see her monthly photos side by side and to see the comparison from year one & year two. You can see how she’s so much more playful in year two and her personality shows more. I almost gave up on these monthly photos and only missed 1 month (month 21) but I’m so glad I continued doing it and plan to continue until she decides she’s had enough. I’m debating if I should keep the red chair & alphabet poster for her year 3 monthly photos or completely change it up. What do you think?

It gets a little harder to get her to sit down for long periods so towards the end of year two, I had less than a minute to capture her sitting on her chair. Mmmm…. I’m already late for her month 25 photo. Gotta get on it!

Last monthly photo for year 2! Luna turned 2 a couple weeks ago while we were in Mexico and it’s hard to believe that our little girl has been part of our family and this world for 2 years. It’s such a wonderful age as she is even more aware of her surroundings and is always so excited to discover the world with a favourite saying that repeats a million times a day: “what’s that?”. She wants to know about everything she sees, feels & touches.

Some of her other favourite sayings are: “I’m mommy & daddy’s baby”, “I’m stuck”, “are you ok?”, “daddy at work”, “mommy, daddy, papa, coco… happy”, “daddy hold me”…. it’s always so sweet hearing her cute little voice as she expresses her thoughts & feelings.

I had also promised myself that I would continue doing her yearly book to document her life year by year. As soon as I finished her 1st year of life book, I immediately started working on book 2 which is almost done.

We are so proud of our little girl and so happy to see her growing up with so much joy & love for life. We are all very excited to see her continue to grow as we enter a new chapter of her life.

At 23 months, Luna has learned on her own to use the ipad to watch her shows and play her educational games – quite amazing actually. Luna loves apples, cheese, chocolate milk, yoghurt, wearing dresses, doing all sorts of art & reading time.

Luna is still enjoying daycare quite a lot and we once asked her what her friends names are and she said, “Teddy, lamb, baby…”. We couldn’t help but giggle as those are all her stuffed animal friends.

We are also slowly introducing her to potty training and we’ve been reading her lots of books on going to the potty. She has a pink little potty that she’s proud to have and enjoys sitting in it as she pretends to actually use it. Once in awhile, she will ask us to pull her pants down to go to the potty and just happily sits there proud of herself. Wish us luck once we go full swing with potty training! I’m a little nervous.

The sweetest part of ending the evening is quietly hearing her through the monitor while she’s laying in bed by herself reciting all of the names in the family (including grandparents & cousins) by saying: “mommy happy”, “daddy happy”, “Coco happy”, “Papa happy”, “Izzy happy”…. as she slowly dozes off to sleep. My heart just melts as I listen to her. My sweet little girl.

Luna has been saying a whole lot of words lately. She’s become our little chatter box and is known to be a social butterfly at daycare. Luna is at a stage where she copies everything we do and tries to mimic it all her own way. Luna loves spending time with all her cousins and constantly looks for them when they aren’t around. She’s also obsessed with brushing her teeth and washing her feet. Luna is happiest when she’s able to express herself fully and LOVES being surrounded by a lot of people and enjoys dancing to music.

Like any other kid out there, Luna has been smitten by Barney & Dora. Luna loves ice cream, peanut butter corn pops, granola bars, yoghurt drinks, chocolate and macaroni & cheese. Luna’s favourite words are ‘home’, ‘oh-oh’ & ‘cookie’. The playground & beach has been a favourite place to hang out and play. At the playground, Luna loves going down the slide all by herself. At the beach, she loves collecting little baby crabs with her cousins or digging a hole in the sand with her shovel. Luna has a new favourite puppy named Jade (my sisters puppy) that she loves to play with & gives her endless hugs.

Our little girl is growing up. Luna is now 19+ months and suddenly learning so many words. She can say mama, daddy, soap, papa, home, cookie, banana, bubbles, go, no, shoes & balls. But for everything else, pointing has been her main communication. It’s been much warmer out lately so our days have been spent outdoors going for walks, going down the slide all by herself at the playground by our house, playing in the sand & spending hours in our backyard. Luna loves being surrounded by other kids and waves to everything and everyone she sees. Luna has also discovered the goodness of ice cream in pink cones.

PS: Thanks to Lucy & Orla for passing on their pretty red dress to Luna.

We are almost 2 weeks late with these 18 months photos but it’s better late than never. A lot of development this month. Luna can now drink milk all by herself from her little orange cup & feeds herself too. Though, she usually needs a bath after as half of her food is all over her body. Luna also likes to mimic the sound of a monkey, a tiger and a dog. When she does the tiger sound, she expects us to run away and be scared. Which most times we do just to get a big laugh from her. Luna has also learned a new dance move – krumping!! Well, a baby version of krumping. She started dancing this way after watching Barney once. It’s so hilarious to watch. Luna loves playing dressup, wearing dresses, going for walks outside, reading time, bath time and eating chocolate.

Biggest development this month is Luna is so close to walking on her own! Yeah!! We still have to hold her hand lightly when walking around but very soon, she’ll be able to do it on her own. This is very exciting for all of us. Our little girl is growing up.

Luna has also recently developed a liking for Curious George and can watch it over and over again. Luna also loves going through peoples handbags and digging into their wallets, loves playing with the Xbox remote control and any other (expensive) gadgets, eating bread, going for walks outside and waving good-bye to people.

The Victoria Secret Fashion show is still part of our nighttime routine – she has to watch it every evening before going to bed. Luna dislikes the sun hitting her face while in the car or in her stroller, dislikes Peter hugging me and does not like me rinsing shampoo off her hair.

I really like Mama Mia’s Maternity Book. What a fantastic idea to document a pregnancy week by week.

Luna continues to enjoy listening and dancing to music, still obsessed with the Victoria Secret Fashion show and claps with the audience when watching The Oprah Winfrey Show. Luna is now very protective of me and does not like seeing Peter show too much affection towards me. I guess she’s going through a jealous phase. It’s funny how worked up she’ll get. She can’t help it, though. It’s kind of cute that that would be her natural instinct.

In the afternoons, as soon as Luna sees Peter walking towards the house, she will happily start waving with a big smile on her face. We are both always so happy to see daddy come home.

Our very happy little 14th month old girl. It was a little hard to keep her sitting still unlike last months photos as she preferred to pose this way. I agree with her, it is a more interesting pose! She’s got her own little mind now. At 14 months, Luna LOVES going out and playing with kids, babies and everyone really. She’s quite the social one and really enjoys other peoples company and not at all shy to meet new people. The house has also been filled with music in every corner from the time she wakes up until we all go to bed as she loves dancing to the tunes. She dances while eating, bathing, playing… and claps to every single song when it’s over no matter what she’s doing. She’s also been obesessed with the Victoria Secret fashion show and watches it over and over again and dances to the music. Our little entertainer. I sometimes wonder if she will follow my mom’s footsteps with ballet (my mom was in ballet for 17 yrs and danced with the famous Russian Bolshoi Ballet Company). We will sign her up for ballet and other dance classes as soon as she starts walking.

At 13 months, Luna is crawling around the entire house now going through baskets of things, opening kitchen cabinets, pulling off cd’s, books and magazines from our bookshelf and completely exploring the house.

If you haven’t noticed, we take monthly photos of Luna. This idea was inspired by a story my photography teacher had told me back in highschool. It’s too bad I can’t remember who the photographer was but he took a portrait of his son, each and every day, during his first year of life. As a present to his son, he put all the photos together as a poster from day 1 to day 365. Normally, it’s hard to notice the little changes on a daily basis but with him documenting his son’s daily development he was able to capture all the little changes you ordinarily wouldn’t notice.

Years had gone by and I had never forgotten this story. When Luna came to this world, I decided I would do the same. Well, the responsibilities of parenthood took it’s course and I realized that taking the exact portrait photo of her everyday seemed like such a big task to a new mother. So instead, I decided to do a monthly photo of Luna with different patterned fabric background every month. With my love for pattern and fabric, I decided it would be fun to use a different pattern every month to make the photos fun and whimsical. Now that I look at these photos after a year had passed, it is amazing to see them all side by side and see the little and big changes the first 12 months have brought.

Twelve months was my end mark for doing this but I find it fun to do and I want to continue. But I need to find an easier way to do it – like a quick snapshot every month of her in the exact same location. Maybe sitting on one of her chairs in a corner of a room? Mmm…

What an amazing 12 months it has been. Just a year ago, our little girl was born. She was so little when she came out and although she’s not that tiny now, she will always be our little baby. Luna has developed 4 teeth now and mostly refuses being fed by a spoon. She would rather feed herself finger food which for Peter and I, means major cleaning up after every meal. Luna traveled for the first time with us to Mexico, and she surprised us by being such a great little traveler (she slept for most of the 5.5 hour flight and happily waved and smiled at people around her).

At 12 months, she’s finally crawling and loves exploring the house. She finds going through our bookshelf and ripping pages from magazines and notebooks to be more enjoyable then playing with her toys. We’ve also realized just recently, that Luna fancies birds. When we were in Mexico, Peter would take Luna out and point out the birds flying in the sky. Surprisingly, she remembered that experience and gets excited whenever she sees any type of birds whether real or not.

Luna also enjoyed her first birthday party. She was so excited all day and was happy to play with her baby friends. It was as if she knew that it was her special day. We are also surprised to see by how many words she understands now. Like: “hi”, “bye”, “balloons”, “clap your hands”, “don’t eat it”, “birdie”, “eat”, “play the music”, “shake it”, “brush your teeth”…

It’s been a fun first year and we are looking forward to more growth and adventures in year two!

Our little Luna is 11 months old! Luna has been more vocal these past weeks with a lot of happy screams that goes on in the morning while she plays with her toys. I can’t help but giggle with every scream as I find it too cute that she is too happy to hold it all in. Luna’s favourite toys lately are her tambourines, xylophone, and drums. She also loves our story time and her favourite books are: Spot the Dog, Dotty, Charley Harper 123′s, Charley Harper abc’s, Baby Panda and Goodnight Moon.

Luna’s bottom tooth has sprouted out and the other one beside it looks like it’s eagerly wanting to come out too. We are eyeing it every day and are very excited for this new development.

As for food, Luna is still eating very well. She has recently started eating Annabel Karmel’s chicken and apricot curry which she eats with lentils. I’m always on the lookout for new recipes and currently looking for a good baby friendly chili recipe.

Luna has also started her Creative Movement and Mother Goose classes. I’ve noticed that she really radiates joy in these group environments filled with music, activities, bubbles, book reading, dancing etc… I’m over joyed to see her so engaged in the activities and she also tries to say hi to all the other babies by either waving to them or touching their face.

Luna has also been eager to start walking. She’s not too happy to learn to crawl but when it comes to walking, she’s all over the place. I have a feeling she might skip crawling as she’s never too happy when we get her to practice to crawl.

I can’t believe in just a month, our little girl will be turning one. Everything about her is so precious and it puts tears in our eyes seeing her grow and learn new things. Luna just always amazes us. So innocent, so curious and so much love for the world.

Little Luna is now 10 months old. Luna loves swimming in the pool (we go once a week), sitting on a swing and bouncing on a seasaw at the park. She loves our long walks as she sits in her stroller and watches the world go by. Luna LOVES playing with her nephews Bailey and Nico and get excited every time they come over to play with her. They always watch her so closely (like her big brothers) and endlessly entertain her.

Luna has also learned her first word – MAMA! Though, she refers to everything and everyone as Mama. Luna has also learned to clap her hands and wave.

Luna has been eating finger foods and enjoys feeding herself. She happily eats a banana all by herself, strawberries, melons and practically anything she can get her hands on. Luna has also enjoyed everything I cooked for her so far. She loves her baby bolognese with ricotta cheese, homemade broccoli cheese sticks, peas steak risotto & macaroni and cheese.

Luna is still sleeping very well and sleeps all night by herself in her room. Oh, the freedom we have! As soon as we turn on Lullatone (given to us by Jonathan & Anita), she knows it’s time to sleep. She’s also made a friend which stays with her everytime she sleeps. It’s a little white lamb which our friend Sophia had given her. She loves her little lamb which she always has tightly wrapped in her arms to keep her cozy at night.

At this stage, we also feel like she should have a few organized activities that she can start participating in. We’ve got a puppet show to go to in our local library next week, a creative movement class which starts in 2 weeks at a community centre and Mother Goose at our local library once a week as well where we all sit in a circle and sing nursery rhymes. She’s also signed up for a baby art class which starts in November. I’m excited for that one!

We still have the last bit of Summer to enjoy and then we welcome what Fall brings to our everyday life.

Wow, our little girl is now 9 months old! A few updates this month. Luna can now sit up all by herself! She’s also eating very well. I’ve recently introduced lentils with coriander and fresh mint, peas risotto and tofu. Soon, I’ll be making her homemade hummus for her to dip her baby cookies in. As much as I can, I try to introduce a variety of flavours to constantly expand her palette.

Luna loves sitting and standing on grass. She loves the feeling of it in her little feet. She also loves to grab flowers and leaves and tries to stuff them all in her mouth. Luna doesn’t like the feel of sand in her feet and is afraid of the ocean. But I’ll try to take her to the beach more often so she can get used to it. Luna also loves being taken to the playground to sit in the swing. This has been her new favourite activity.

We’ve also successfully sleep trained her (at 6 months, she decided she didn’t want to sleep in her crib so we’ve been co-sleeping since then). She now is able to sleep all by herself in her crib and sleeps all night. Amazing! And when she wakes up, she quietly plays with her little lamb in her crib and waits for us to come in. We always look forward to going into her room in the morning as she screams with delight as soon as she sees us and is eager to be taken in our arms. These are moments we will always cherish.

We continue to watch our little girl explore her world and are excited to experience what month 10 brings!

We can’t believe our little Luna is now 8 months old. It feels like it was only yesterday when we took her 7th month photos. How time flies… People weren’t kidding when they said they grow fast – they really do. When we look back at her newborn photos, it’s hard to believe she was that tiny!

Luna is now eating 3 times a day and really enjoys her food. I’m not quite sure if she has a favourite as she seems to eat anything I give her. As long as it’s sweet, she’s happy. I’ve started giving her quinoa and will soon introduce pasta and tofu. She also likes munching on her baby mum mum and it’s so cute how dirty she gets by eating those little cookies. Every morning when we wake up, I feel like I need to run to the kitchen and quickly make us our breakfast as she wants to eat ASAP! I guess she gets it from me as I’m that way too :)

Luna also loves getting her hair brushed. She is a girl afterall… She hasn’t started crawling yet but we see her trying. Maybe soon? Luna will also be starting her summer session of her swimming classes this Saturday which I am looking forward to. It’s really cute to watch her splash around in the pool. Our little girl is growing and we continue to watch her explore her world.

Our little girl is now 7 months old! She’s a lot more vocal now and loves rolling around. She can’t crawl yet but once in awhile I see her trying. She loves the food I make her and recently, she started eating homemade steak stew (it’s actually pretty good, a lot better then the stew I made for Peter and I a few months ago), chicken with fresh basil, mangos and soon, she will be eating blueberries. She’s finished her swimming classes but I have signed her up for the summer class as she really loves it. Summer is almost here and I can’t wait for us to spend our days lounging at the beach, picking berries at the park by our house, lots of picnics and having our meals out in our garden. Luna is a winter baby so we are excited to see her discover her world in the heat! Yay for summer!

Luna is now 6 months old! A lot to report this month. Luna has started her solids 4 weeks ago and is now eating carrots, organic whole grain rice cereal, sweet potatoes, broccoli and banana. She likes them all except for broccoli. Although, she didn’t give up right away. She tasted a few spoonfuls with a nasty look on her face until she made up her mind that it’s not a taste she fancies. Perhaps it’s not sweet enough? I think she gets her sweet tooth from me.

Luna also started rolling a month ago and is so proud of herself and likes to show it off. She rolls from her tummy to her back and is able to do it on each side. Amazing! We are so proud of her. She has also had a few giggle fests which she seems to only do with me in the room. Peter hasn’t really seen it yet (not the full blown one anyway). Perhaps she’s practicing with me first before she goes public with it.

We also go to the library on Fridays for Mother Goose where we sing nursery rhymes while sitting on the floor in a circle with other moms and babies. Luna loves it! She loves being sung to, loves the dancing movements I teach her and just loves seeing other babies. I think Luna just loves being surrounded with music as we always have music playing throughout the day at home (we listen to some of my favourites like Jeremy Jay, Cut Copy, The Juju Orchestra, Tender Forever, Nouvelle Vague, Carla Bruni, Pheonix…) and when Peter gets home, he sings to her with some James Brown classics. I’m also starting to re-learn some of the nursery rhymes I used to know which we sometimes have it playing at home. I find that I have the song ‘twinkle twinkle little star’ on loop in my head!

Luna has also started her swimming lessons a few weeks ago. As soon as I put her in the water on the first day of class, I was surprised to see her so content in the pool. She wasn’t scared at all and started kicking her feet right way. It’s a half hour class on Saturdays and babies are taught to float on their back (with me holding her at all times of course), float on their tummy, submerge their whole body completely and just feel comfortable splashing in the water. We’ve been to a few classes and she’s never cried once!

Lately, I find that having her sit in one of her chairs or lie on the floor with a few toys isn’t enough entertainment for her. She really likes to play and loves the attention it brings. So we finally bought her a jolly jumper which we hung on the ceiling of our dining room/kitchen area and she loves it! As soon as we put her in, she’s so happy and starts jumping right away, screams with delight and doesn’t stop jumping until I take her out. It’s such a joy watching her so happy. Jumping on her own without anyone holding her up must be such an amazing experience for her.

Luna is such a joy and we now look forward to see and experience what month 7 brings.

Our little Luna is now 5 months old and growing! She is now very curious to see and hear everything that surrounds her. Even when she’s all tucked inside her ergo baby carrier as we go for our walks, I see her head popping in and out wanting to see all the lights, colours, movement and noise around us. There’s so much for her to see and she’s taking it all in. Anyone who talks to Luna is treated with the biggest smiles and baby giggles. Luna also loves sitting in her bumbo chair and feels proud to be sitting up by herself like a big girl. When she’s by herself and wants some company, she has learned to call out to us with her super loud high pitch baby sound that can be heard all the way in the back of the house. Luna has also been treating us with what we call her ‘happy dance’. When she’s really, really happy, we find her lying on her back wiggling her shoulders and legs while bobbing head from side to side with a grin on her face. This always makes Peter and I laugh. As of today, Luna has also started her solids. I fed her with her first organic whole grain rice cereal and she happily ate almost a whole tablespoon with no complaints at all. That’s our girl!

Four months, already! Lots of developments to report this month. Luna still loves to smile and has added cute silent giggles to her repertoire. Very recently, she’s added a tiny baby laugh to her giggles but that’s only happened twice so far. Luna likes to babble with anyone who talks to her. We call it “conversating”. I know that’s not a real word but she doesn’t speak real words so it fits. Luna has outgrown her bassinette and moved into a crib. Luna can’t do a full belly-to-back roll, yet. She can manage a 3/4 roll but if we put her flat on her stomach she gets frustrated that her body can’t accomplish what her mind wills it to do. Maybe next month, Luna. Even though Luna can’t roll yet, she can travel quite some distance by wiggling and kicking around. When we leave her on a mat for a few minutes it’s quite surprising where she ends up. In month four we’re using a Baby Bjorn baby carrier for the first time. Luna enjoyed being carried snuggly through Vancouver while we checked out the Winter Olympic sights. Lastly, Luna really enjoys being sung to. Her favorite songs in month four are James Brown’s “I Feel Good” and Lionel Ritchie’s “Say You, Say Me”.

Luna is now three months old! She is such a happy baby and entertains us with non stop smiles and laughter. She has a daily routine now where she naps at certain times of the day, then has her play time for about 1.5 hrs before yawning starts again and she’s ready for her next nap. As soon as she wakes up from her naps, she cries for milk and once she’s done feeding, we are treated with the loveliest smiles from such a little person. Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that little head of hers as she seems to find everything so utterly amusing. It’s a joy to see our little Luna so happy in her environment. It makes us realize even more that we have created such a lovely environment where she feels so safe & loved.

Our little Luna is now two months old! She is now a lot more active, always smiling and demands for play time. In her first month, Luna’s favorite activities were breast-feeding, cuddling and napping. Breast-feeding and cuddling are still in her top five but napping is now precluded with crankiness. Her new favorite activities include listening to singing or clapping, being held up while pretending to stand like a big person and, now, she loves baths. That’s quite a breakthrough since she absolutely hated baths in her first month. Now, she just closes her eyes, stretches out and enjoys her spa time. The sweetest new development in month two is that Luna has learned to smile. It’s so special to wake up to a grinning baby or to be surprised with an impromptu gigglefest. We’re looking forward to the new adventures month three brings along.

Luna is now one month old and growing! So far, life with Luna at home has been pretty easy (easy compared to some of the stories I have heard…). Though, every time I think it’s “easy”, she suddenly wants to stay up for a portion of the night or wants to be held all afternoon as she sleeps soundly in my arms. She’s probably thinking, “hey mom, stop with your baking and play with me instead!”.

Our activities daily hasn’t really changed, except for the past few days, Peter and I are trying something new with her. We read in a book, my sister gave us called ‘What To Expect The First Year’, that babies today are developing some motor skills later than they used to because they are spending less time on their tummies. So for a few minutes each day, we lay her on her tummy but this usually only lasts for a few minutes. It’s a new feeling for her and she easily gets frustrated not knowing what to do with herself in this position. As she lays on her tummy, we see her trying to do a crawling movement and tries her best to lift her head up to look around. We encourage her by clapping and telling her she’s doing a great job. But all of it ends as soon as she starts screaming as if she’s telling us “give it up guys, just put me back on my bassinet and let me rest!!”.

Aaahhh… the life of a baby…
